Terms of Service
Effective date: to be set at launch. Operated by the S.O.T. Group, Dili, Timor-Leste.
1. What Servisu of Timor is
Servisu of Timor (servisu.oftimor.com) is an online platform where employers (“Employers”) publish job vacancies, where jobseekers build a profile and apply, and where information about overseas labour-mobility programmes is provided. “Servisu” means “work” in Tetum.
Servisu of Timor is a platform and information service. We are not an employer, an employment agency, a recruitment agent, a migration agent, or a government body. We do not select workers for any programme and we do not guarantee anyone a job.
2. No placement guarantees
Publishing a vacancy, registering interest, or building a profile does not guarantee employment, an interview, selection for any overseas programme, or a visa. Decisions rest entirely with Employers and, for overseas programmes, with the relevant governments and their official processes.
3. No fees to workers
Consistent with international ethical-recruitment standards (the ILO “Employer Pays” principle), jobseekers never pay Servisu of Timor to find work, apply, or build a profile — it is free. We prohibit Employers and any partner from charging workers recruitment fees through this platform. If anyone asks you to pay to obtain a job, an interview, or an overseas placement, that is a warning sign of a scam — report it to us.
4. Overseas labour mobility
Information about programmes such as Australia’s PALM scheme and Pacific Engagement Visa, Korea’s EPS, and the UK corridor is provided for general guidance only and may be out of date. The authoritative source for Timorese workers is SEFOPE (the Secretariat of State for Vocational Training and Employment) and the destination governments. We do not sell visas, do not arrange travel or passports, and do not promise placements. Always register through official government channels and never pay a “fixer”.
5. Employer obligations
Employers are solely responsible for the accuracy and legality of their vacancies, including salary, requirements, and equal-treatment obligations. Employers must have the right to hire for the roles they post, must not post discriminatory or fraudulent vacancies, and must not use the platform to charge workers fees.
6. Accounts and conduct
You must provide accurate information, keep your credentials safe, and use the platform only for lawful employment activity. We may suspend accounts that post fake vacancies, misrepresent identity, harvest personal data, harass other users, or attempt to circumvent platform safeguards.
7. Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Servisu of Timor is not liable for losses arising from employment decisions, from inaccurate vacancies, from overseas-programme outcomes, or from decisions made in reliance on platform content. Nothing on this platform is legal, migration, or financial advice.
8. Changes
We may update these terms; material changes will be announced on the platform. Continued use after a change constitutes acceptance.
