Portugal / EU (CPLP)
Portuguese-speaking routes to Portugal and the EU, including CPLP mobility — your Portuguese is a real advantage.
How it works
As a fellow CPLP (Community of Portuguese-Speaking Countries) member, Timor-Leste shares mobility arrangements with Portugal. Most routes need a job offer or study place and go through Portuguese immigration; shared language makes Portugal one of the more accessible European destinations.
Who it is for
- Typically need a job offer, study place, or family/CPLP basis to apply.
- Portuguese language is a strong advantage and sometimes required.
How to apply — the safe way
- Secure a job offer or eligible basis, then apply through Portuguese immigration (AIMA).
- Check current CPLP mobility terms — they change; see the latest updates below.
🛡 Stay safe: Register and check every step through SEFOPE — the Secretariat of State for Vocational Training and Employment — never through a private “fixer”. A legitimate overseas job never asks a worker to pay a recruitment or placement fee (the employer pays). You may pay only official costs like your passport, and government test or medical fees.
